Regularly I'd give it one star - as it is ONLY a fenced area - in the middle of nowhere.. with NO trash can, so no one cleans up after their dogs despite the addition of trash bags (but good luck getting them out of the dispenser). However, There are a lot (too many) sticks.. If your dog likes those. There is a picnic table, One big shade tree, and someone left a lot of tennis balls. My dog doesn't like coming here at all because no other dogs are here. So maybe this park best serves dogs that are not good with other dogs (and who like sticks).
-grass for 5 stars, but at least a level playing ground with no weeds.
-other shade trees
I appreciate the effort that the Eagle Scout took. But I couldn’t even find this dog park!! I didn’t look up any reviews, otherwise I wouldn’t have even tried to come, but I drove around the entire park and couldn’t see any fenced off areas. The entire willow park looked sad and depressing. I drove 2 miles to get to this park and drove back to my neighborhood to the park there where I had to keep my dogs leashed the entire time. Very disappointed. Definitely making the effort to go to Draper or sandy or salt lake for a worthwhile dog park.
- TRASH CAN, no one likes putting dog shiz in their car.
Come on Utah County, realize a large portion of your population has dogs! Given that 68% of US households include at least one dog, it would stand to reason that thousands of people in this area are looking for a dog friendly space. This is not that space.
Areas for improvement:
-some WD40 on the gate latch
I'm giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what I want it to do. Gives me a place to let me dog run care free. I love the tall weeds, and the mountain view. If you want to play fetch with your dog this is a perfect place. When we go there we usually have the place to ourselves, which I actually love. It's a beautiful uncrowded area where you can enjoy some outside time with your pup. If you are wanting to socialize your dog, this might not be the best place, because there isn't heavy traffic...which in my opinion is nice and refreshing. There aren't many places these days that are dog friendly, and fenced in where you aren't smothered. I love to spend relaxing Sundays here! Will keep enjoying! Thank you to the Eagle Scout who made it, it continues to bless our lives!
One of the reasons I bring my dog to the dog park is so that she will socialize with other dogs but there's not a single other dog here. As the others posted, there aren't any trash cans or dog waste bags. There's a dispenser but it's empty and I'm assuming that it's rarely refilled, if ever. There wasn't a lot of dog poop when I was here so it must have recently been cleaned. & There are two gates as you walk in but I really had to work with them so they would open and close. If you had a rambunctious dog I would be hesitant. The fence also isnt that high. Maybe 4 feet, but that might be generous. It looks like a dog tried to jump over a part where it's bent. So if your dog gets excited and will jump the fence when he sees people, I would not recommend this place. Also, this may be more out of me thing, but there are electrical lines that run overhead and you can hear them the whole time. I feel like I'm getting radiation poisoning by just standing here. Don't waste your time coming here. Do yourself a favor and drive up the road to the dog park in Draper.
- running water
Don't let Danielle's pics fool you. Her pics are the only reason we came. It's a TINY, grassed area that's fenced it. That's it. Your dog is better off in your own backyard. Now if you don't have a backyard with the fence, I could see why some people would come here. But for the amount of time it took me to get here, (you have to drive through almost the whole park at 10 mph) I could've driven to the dog park in Draper and it's 1000 times better!
- someone to rake about a thousand of the sticks away
Thank you to the eagle scout who put his hard efforts into this area, shame on Lehi and Utah County government entities for not keeping it up whatsoever.
